Welcome to Mrs. Fitzpatrick's Career and Technical Education classes at Deer Valley High School! I teach Marketing and Career Exploration and serve as co-advisor for DECA. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a Post Baccalaureate degree in Secondary Education. I am presently working on a Masters Degree in Career and Technical Education at Northern Arizona University. I am certified in Secondary Education, Career and Technical Education (Business and Marketing), Structured English Immersion, and English as a Second Language.
My business experience includes over eleven years in the corporate sector in both international and small business environments. I strive to provide my students with "real world", industry-based skills necessary for success in the ever changing twenty-first century workplace. My philosophy is to prepare students to enter the workforce with the distinct advantage of a broad knowledge base in business practices, communication skills, technology and positive work behaviors. Teaching has afforded me the rewarding opportunity to influence the lives of young people in this exciting time in their lives as they begin to make post secondary education and career choices.
My personal life includes spending time with my husband of thirteen years, my eleven year old son and my eight year old daughter. I enjoy playing the clarinet, golfing and helping out with my children's activities both in and out of school.
